About

Hi! I’m Annaliesa Rose and welcome to my website.

I’m so grateful to have the privilege to be working with some fabulous musicians including Matt Lustri and Sam Mudie on guitar, John Burgess and Guy Vaughan-Smith on bass (depending on location), Trevor Kettlewell on drums, and fabulous woodwind and brass players including ARIA award winner Miroslav Bukovsky (trumpet and flugelhorn and collaborating together in compositions) and Andrew Robertson (saxophones and flute).

Also having the opportunity to work with Paul Winn, Cal Clugston, Sally Greenaway, John Black, Stu King, In Full Swing Big Band and ConneXion Big Band and other musicians in Canberra, Wollongong and Sydney and working alongside Daryl Wallis on the non-jazz project, Annaliesa Rose Sings the Peter Allen Songbook.

For all of these opportunities and for the present and future I am so grateful. Thank you to all who inspire me to be able to live my life doing what I love.

My debut album (which you can also find on this website, Bandcamp and all streaming sites) feat. these brilliant musicians Miroslav Bukovsky as performer and composer, Michael Bartolomei, Phil Stack and Tim Firth. It was a lot of work that paid off and I’m proud to be able to share this project with you all and thank you so much for all who have had the opportunity to help with this work and also who enjoy this album.

Come along to my jazz gigs coming up in Canberra, Wollongong and Sydney, or for those elsewhere, I have a tour coming up that I’m planning so I will let you know the details soon. Watch this space!

For now, I send you lots of love and hugs and may all of your dreams manifest and you live a life with passion and love and gratitude. 🌹🎵🎶🎵🎶

Annaliesa Rose is a versatile singer, musician and composer who has been performing her whole life. She has performed at many different venues including the The Foundry616, Wests Illawarra, The Basement as part of the Jazz & Blues Sundays at The Illawarra Master Builders Club, Canberra’s Albert Hall, Molly Bar in Canberra City, National Gallery of Australia, The Canberra Wine House, The National Press Club, and many clubs, hotels, bars, wineries and jazz festivals over the years. She also performed in the 2000 Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies and other functions as part of the Millennium Marching Band.

With a passion for jazz, after tuition from her mother Marjorie Shepheard, she went on to learn from Australia’s best of the best (especially in the jazz world) Kerrie Biddell. From there she went on to study a Bachelor of Music in the elite jazz program at The Australian National University in Canberra where she was taught by many of Australia’s finest working jazz musicians. She then topped off her studies with a Master’s Degree in Arts Management at the Australian Institute of Music to better understand the workings of her industry.

Annaliesa recorded her debut album with Miroslav Bukovsky, Michael Bartolomei, Phil Stack and Tim Firth, titled “Is That Jazz?” which is available for purchase and streaming on Bandcamp and all streaming services.

Annaliesa is focused on her composing a lot more these days and is working on a few projects that will come out later this year and in the near future.
